So my husband and I take Jaeger on a walk yesterday and decide to go and walk around the pond. When we got there no one else was there so we let Jaeger off his leash and he goes full speed ahead and jumps in the water. Then he turns around and looks at us like are you foinf to throw my ball so I can go swim and get it. I didn't think he would just go and jump in the water. It has been awhile since he had been to the beach or anything like that. Just proves how much labs love water.

Why me??
Oh yeah they do. My in laws have a lab and they live right on the water. They have to let her out with a leash every time if not she is out in the water.

How funny and cute! How old is he? Our black lab is 16 months old and loves the water - we got him to go in the pool for the first time a few days ago. He's always playing in the sprinklers and we can't keep him away from the power washer when we're trying to use it! :lmao: We haven't brought him to a beach or anything like that yet because he still doesn't listen well enough to be in public, off a leash. Now that the weather's getting nice, we'll have to work on that.

I'm going to be taking his brother to the water soon....He still has a listening problem once he gets a certain distance away from me...He has a little pool we got him last year and the only time he plays in it is when we are filling it and he bites at the stream...He goes wild and jumps through the water...Once it is filled, he could care less about it...

I think my dog would sink to the bottom if she went in water. Atleast until she blows her winter coat. Her fur is so thick and dense right now. Looks like it weighs a ton.

Jaeger could care less about his pool or even a hose but if you bring him to a park with water or the beach he goes crazy. A good place to go is Myrtle Point Park. There is another beach section that no one is never at, it has a pond on one side and the bay/river on the other side. There is never anyone at that part so you can let him run free. Once you get to the park its probably 3/4 of a mile down a trail.
