"We're going to need a bigger boat!"

Mark 3:7 Jesus withdrew with his disciples to the lake, and a large crowd from Galilee followed. 8 When they heard about all he was doing, many people came to him from Judea, Jerusalem, Idumea, and the regions across the Jordan and around Tyre and Sidon. 9 Because of the crowd he told his disciples to have a small boat ready for him, to keep the people from crowding him. 10 For he had healed many, so that those with diseases were pushing forward to touch him. 11 Whenever the impure spirits saw him, they fell down before him and cried out, “You are the Son of God.” 12 But he gave them strict orders not to tell others about him.

It's middle October as I post this. The lady next door has fabric ghouls hanging around the entrance to her apartment. I think they have motion sensors in them because they make noises a lot! It's quite earie to hear those fabric ghouls making their ghoulish noises while reading about Jesus being forced into a boat by the demons and unclean spirits who want to "Out" Him to the Pharisees, Sadducees, and the Herodians.

Jesus gave the demons strict orders not to tell others about Him. That's in verse 12. People were going to talk anyway. After all, Lepers couldn't be home with their families. They couldn't carry on a regular life. They carried rotting skin everywhere they went. Humans dealing with paralysis, blindness, and deafness had to lay by the pools or the city gates and beg. The paralyzed could go home.... if they could get someone to drag their carpet to their home. Since I'm half blind now, I would have had to hold a cup and beg.... and a beggar woman lived a very, very dangerous life.

Of course, if they found out Jesus was going to be in town.... they were going to try to get to Him. No doubt they heard about the women who had a bleeding issue. She touched the hem of His coat and was healed immediately. No doubt they heard about the man who had been paralyzed since birth, or the man who had been blind since birth, all of whom had been healed by this man. Of course, they went to wherever He might show up. He didn't have His meetings in the synagogue, He worked on the banks, by the water. He could make His escape if the crowds good too full of demons. He could make His escape if the needy grew too intense.

Those nasty ghoulish demons kept calling Him out as the "Son of God". Satan's minions had no problem calling Him out.

It's those moronic Pharisees, Sadducees, and Herodians who wanted to stop Him from healing. They couldn't heal the sick. They couldn't make a shriveled hand new again. They couldn't return sight or hearing. They could only slaughter an offering and pour the blood on the altar. They could only blame the sick. They could only spend their time making sure no one picked their own nose during the Sabbath.

I wonder.... when the crowds started to converge on Jesus.... did any of the disciples get scared?

Did any of the disciples say, "we're going to need a bigger boat!"?
