West Virginia Cops and Dogs

Apparently West Va. state police are trained to shoot any dog on sight.

A woman from West Virginia has been acquitted on the obstruction of justice charges she was facing for trying to step in between a dog and the police officer who was about to shoot him. Tiffanie Hupp was arrested for her efforts, and State Trooper Seth Cook claimed that he was just doing as he was trained.
Cook claims that West Virginia state troopers are all trained to kill any dog that approaches them in the course of their duty. It doesn’t matter if the dog is aggressive or charging, or chained up with a wagging tail, like Buddy was on the day the incident took place.

Her public defender thought she should take a plea deal to make it go away, the PD didn't think it was necessary to disclose that her hubby was this cops boss.

Personally I think this guy is a liar and him, his boss, and his bosses wife should all be canned.

Sooo much more to this story than the dog aspect. Officer committed perjury repeatedly, illegally seized property belonging not just to the suspect, but other family members also. Intimidation by the department to try and force her to give up her phones password. And the public defender assigned to her? Who assured her she needed to take a plea? Turns out to be married to the officers in question direct supervisor.

Jesus. this is exactly the sort of thing that the "OMG, officer is ALWAYS RIGHT, if you question the officer, you hate them and suck, and should be turned over to a Mexican cartel to be made an example of". should keep in mind when we advocate for body cameras. Officer stated she had a freaking crossbow and physically interfered with him when in fact, thanks to the video, you can see that none of that was real.

Yeah that, but what does TJ have to say about it, that's the important part.
