And no, I'm NOT talking about :otter: this time. :lmao:

My neck has been sore for two days and it's getting worse. I suppose it would help if I stopped running around doing stuff, but that's not an option right now. I've tried various OTC medicines like Tylenol and aspirin, but it's just not helping for long. I've tried both a heating pad and cooling it down with ice with little results. :ohwell:

What else can I try? Oh, and it has to be LEGAL.

I hear that if you drink a lot of water it helps....but I don't know why and I don't know if it works because I don't drink water.

Heating pads only work if you can sit and leave it comfortable for many hours. The short term hit, while a small benefit, doesn't do very well. Get one of the stick on heat pads from the pharmacy. They come in three packs for the neck area. You leave it on 8 hours while you work and its adhesive and not uncomfortable. It is a very nice even heat, too. The big difference happens when you take it off and relax. Suddenly, your muscles just seem to release. :yay:

Also, drink plenty of water as Nickel said. That does help. My neck/back problems show up much worse when I am getting dehydrated.

Visit your doc and get some flexoril (sp?). Combine that with ibuprofin and hot showers or jacuzzi and you'll be fine in a day or two. Just don't plan on doing anything when you come home and take the flexoril.

Ibuprofen usually upsets my stomach something fierce, but I think that would be better than this pain. I can't hardly move my head to the left. I didn't know that about being dehydrated. I drink water almost constantly, but I'll push some more water and see if that helps.

I've been in the shower with hot water and the massage on my neck for a LONG time and that didn't help much. I think I'll go fill up the jacuzzi and soak in there tonight to see if that helps any. I haven't left the heating pad on longer than 15-20 minutes - just too much to do. Those stick-on heating pads sound like a better idea. I'll pick some up tomorrow if it's not any better.

Thanks for all the suggestions. :huggy:

A little more costly, but a deep muscle massage would do the trick, too.

I've got some great neck stretches, but can't possibly describe them to you.:ohwell: But nice, long, gentle stretches would probably help a lot.
