What is it about that bend in the road that people can't seem to negotiate. Wasn't it about 6 months ago that someone ran into the WaWa gas sign and knocked it over?

I believe alcohol and/or drugs could certainly be a possibility in not being able to negotiate that turn some times. I hate that area right there, especially if you are coming off of Ward Road (such as from the Safeway or Wawa) and trying to merge into traffic. Folks already on rte 4 have the right of way if they want to get into that turn/merge lane to turn into the Wawa, yet I constantly see people pull out into that merge lane to get onto rte 4 while traffic is coming at speed (usually more than the 45 mph posted) through the light - this doesn't give folks on rte 4 much of a chance to get into that turn lane to get into the Wawa. If folks were a little more patient, they would get a green light that would allow them to pull out and merge onto rte 4 safely, but everyone is in such a hurry.

We call that "pulling a Kennedy".
not quite, he was caught nearby, Kennedy went back to the party, didn't even bother to call it in.
Between the alcohol and the collision with the pole his brain probably was scrambled a bit, so he may not have been thinking clear and just was wandering. That doesn't excuse the crash that was his fault 100%.
