what a shame...

We drove to Solomons today to poke around. The remains of the structure that burned is a terrible sight. We actually know Wesley, the man that started the bike/kayak shop next door. He was a great kid in the scouts and was doing well.
A woman in a white Buick pulled up to photograph the damage. She must have been the operator of the pet shop and her face said it all. They survived the CoVid, things were probably starting to pick up, only to have a fire destroy it all.

Such a shame.

I'm pretty sure the bike shop was founded by a guy named Dave; retired military. I was told he sold it some time after I moved out. There was not a pet shop but rather a veterinarians office there.

Was this in the bike shop that was in the old Solomons VFD fire station building?
In 2007, I rented in the strip mall that burned; between the bike shop (Patuxent Adventures) and the vet. I think that's where they started out but I certainly could be wrong.
