What can she get into next??

We already had the "eating a sock and getting blocked" episode. Last night was the "I ate something and it got lodged on my tooth" episode. My oldest told me that our dog was bleeding from her mouth. She had bloody drool hanging from her mouth and a very worried look on her face. I opened her mouth and her tongue was bloody. I looked closer and saw that she had something on one of her teeth. I thought it was a rock. I tried to pull it off and it wouldn't budge.

I started thinking that I'd have to take her to the emergency vet in Huntingtown. I grabbed the towel that we use to wipe her muddy feet and yanked as hard as I could. It finally popped off. The dog (and I) were so relieved. I looked in her mouth again and it seemed like the reason for the blood was due to her gnawing on the object and making the edges raggedy and sharp. It was a circular object apparently just big enough to fit tightly over her tooth. We have no idea what it was or where it came from.

Glad she is ok. Maybe it was part of a toy or a Christmas ornament?

Gotta watch those pups! They'll chew anything!

It was outside in our yard. I thought it was a bolt or something from when my husband was taking apart a car in the backyard but he said it was plastic, not metal. Regardless, it was pretty scary seeing her trying to get it off her tooth and I not being able to pull it off. We were both relieved when it finally came loose. I pulled so hard, I thought I had yanked her tooth out too. Luckily, I didn't.

This will be our first XMAS with two new pups and we are not even going to attempt to put up our tree because I can just see coming home one day and half of my ornaments gone because my one young one ate them. She just gets into everything. I've come home on two different occasions and found light timers chewed up and the plugs chewed up. On one other occasion I was vacuuming and couldn't figure out why my vacuum stopped. The dog ate the plug while I was vacuuming. God luv em!! She has plenty of bones to chew, don't know why she chews these things up.

Glad she's ok. At least you didn't have a foster dog push down a baby gate and have diarrhea on your couch. :jet:

If we aren't home, she's in her crate where she (and the house) are safe from her curiosity.

My dog once helped himself to 11 frosted devil's food cupcakes (paper and all).
