Disney's 'Tower of Terror' float evokes grim memories for some

Upon hearing a description of Disney's float, Regenhard said it might be "trivializing injury and possible death."

Bill Doyle, a resident of New York City, doesn't object to the float. But merely hearing the word "tower" reminds him of the Sept. 11, 2001, tragedy that claimed the life of his son Joseph.

"I'd like to see a different name," he said.

If they are so offended by the name, why haven't they been dodging Disney since 9/11 to change the name of the attraction?

Disney officials said the float is merely intended to promote the new attraction. Anyone who sees a connection to the terror attack may be "pushing it," said Disneyland Resort spokeswoman Ruthie Flores.

Maybe we should just strike out the word 'tower' from the English language while we're at it. Why didn't they protest 'LOTR: The Two Towers' too?

They should have ticket booths, and sell #####-slaps for a dollar a pop. I know I'd buy $20 and I'd wait in line for a week if I had to.
