I will not say anything about their looks -- I have a Toyota FJ Cruiser! :lmao: Many people find my vehicle to be quite ugly. (But I think it's cute)

The big problem with a PT Cruiser is it's a Chrysler. I would NEVER buy a Chrysler. Unreliable. Cheap. Crap. In my experience. Yuck. Stay away from Buick's too - my mom has one - it's HORRIBLE!
:yay:
i like those; and the black cherry is my favorite. unfortunately, accessing the back seat didn't work for me, so i opted out of buying

:yeahthat: I'll likely never own one, but I like them a lot. They look like they should have a surf board strapped to the top.

Paso (mom) and I are about to go test drive one for me, anyone heard anything bad about them?

I had two of them. I had a 2001 and loved it. But it lacked horsepower. In 2003 when they came out with the turbo, I traded the '01 for it. I LOVED the GT (turbo). It was an awesome car and I had no problems with it.

I got rid of it because we needed a car with more room once I got married and had step-kids and one on the way.

Mine is a black cherry one. I love it. I guess I was so used to using the flip out doors from the extended cab trucks my husband has, that the back door on the FJ was no big deal to me. It does flip out 90 degrees, so that helps. Even my little 6 year old can climb in and out - once I got the step rail put on it! :lmao:

Not going to happen. If he doesn't come out on his own, he's being evicted 8/7 (next Tuesday).

Well my dad already gave Paso & I our answer.. So the PT Cruiser is out of the picture.. But i did drive by it on the way to the movies, and i think it is a cute car. So Ha! Lol. Mom wants me to get a bigger car than i have (crapalier)... This car has been totalled when i first got it, and it has just never ran the same since then... But im thinking about a Durango now... My son just bought a 2002(?) Focus ZTS... and only 30k miles.
:yikes: That's GREAT! I have 70K on my car, and I bought it new 3/5/05.

If his has the cabin air filter, watch for water leaks. It's under the passenger side cowl (remove it from the engine compartment to get to it). They are known for leaks if not installed properly.

Does it have the variable speed wipers? If not, you can buy used off ebay or junk yard for +/- $30.00 and add them yourself. It's a simple plug & play unit incluing the control arm. Took me about 15 minutes to change mine over.

Guy I know bought one for his son. They changed to a cold air intake and the MPG went way up w/ no other changes. You may want to concider that if he's going to be doing any high mile driving.

I know a few people that have them and they all have been dealing with mechanical issues just after their warantees were up.

MOPAR (Dodge/Chrysler) as a rule gets worse MPG than any other company. They also have a history of crappy transmissions.
