While not complete, what was written is fairly accurate. I'm shocked that there isn't anything mentioned about subjects like fishing, travel or Italy.

So how long before AI starts finishing our sentences?

I had to laugh at that part. The search engines, which have really deteriorated in the last few years - including DuckDuckGo - have long finished what it thought we were looking for.

Lately, it seems like the search engine will intake what I type in, take a usually bad guess as to what it thinks I'm looking for, and present scads of results that have less than zero to do with what I actually wanted. It's doing that regularly, and it's beyond frustrating. It's like the search engines are getting stupider. It's like trying to argue logically with a leftist. Or any woman under 40.

Last night, I saw reference to a Clarence King Medical Fellowship. So, I typed in various questions regarding that, including "Is there a Clarence King medical Fellowship?"

I got everything (including Burger King) BUT anything remotely related to a Clarence King medical Fellowship. I can only conclude that there is, and never was such a thing.

The conspiracy theorist in my wonders why they're hiding the Clarence King medical fellowship.

I asked ChatGPT "what do you know about me?" and it replied:

Not much, and that’s by design

It only knew things that I specifically asked it about in the past. It knows I'm interested in living in New Braunfels TX, that I had a problem with the AC, and that I have high blood pressure.

But I also take steps to not be tracked and I have my browser delete cookies when I close it. I don't allow apps access to my information or friend anyone I don't personally know on social media. I've also removed myself from those "stalk this person" websites. Google thinks I'm a "Street Fighter" character.

I'm curious what AI agent you asked and if you've used it a lot so it would be able to build a profile.

I used Copilot.

I've probably used it less than 20 times. ANd never for anything fishing related that I recall. So I guess it doesn't scrub your internet search history.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around technology that claims to have produced what I think amounts to a more specific search engine based on past search history. Now if can tell me what I ate for breakfast or remind me where I left my keys, I'd be super concerned.

Ah, okay - Copilot is installed on your laptop, right? So it's going to know a LOT about you. I have Copilot turned off but I just turned it back on and asked it what it knew about me. It said:

Right now, I only know two things about you:
  1. Your name
  2. Your location

I'm surprised it didn't know more about you. It should know that you like fishing and that you travel to Italy, also probably that you speak fluent Italian. If I hadn't turned Copilot off I presume it would be able to give a fairly thorough profile of me based on my computer usage, but apparently that's not the case.
