I'm thinking of downloading a free office suite and want to know what I should be looking at. I just want a word processor, spreadsheet program for a catalog I downloaded, and something comparable to Visio (before MS bought them out and ****ed it all up). I used to create some wicked documents with the old Visio.

I've been using Open Office for years. The spreadsheet is not 100% compatible with MS Office, but close enough. I needed a drawing tool for electrical diagrams, found drawio works well.

That's the first one that popped up on my search. Thanks. It sounds like what I'm looking for. That's another thing that Visio did back in the olden days. I drew up many, many lab network and power distribution layouts.

I have used LibreOffice for years. I like it, but only use the word processor and spreadsheets. I've never had a compatibility issue with Microsoft.

I really loved it when I got Visio the first time. Was a huge step up from Corel Flow.
