I havent had any word studies classes yet everythinh has been self taught and Greek has been much easier.

This was a homework question and I am pretty confident I blew it in my attempt to answer it. I was wondering what others thoughts were on it? As I defined the passage not the word??

What is the meaning of asam in Leviticus 6:4? <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />
618. אָסָםasam (62a); from an unused word; a storehouse:— barns(2).
In Leviticus 6:4 though the passage is referring to the guilt offering, but oddly enough I don’t see אָסָם in the Hebrew passage at all. Wesley in his commentary defines the passage the cleanest:
Is guilty - This guilt being manifested by his voluntary confession upon remorse, whereby he reapeth this benefit, that he only restores the principal with the addition of a fifth part; whereas if he were convicted of his fault, he was to pay double,”

The only additional insight I see on the passage is that the sins are indirect, and the guilt offering sacrifice was the same as the sin offering sacrifice. So I would define it as ASAM as Guilt or Guilt offering.
