What is the one ingredient that you always ask to be omitted from a dish?

I did ask one time for a dish to be altered for me. It was a seafood platter with shrimp, scallops, rockfish, and crab. I asked if they could replace the crab with any other seafood. The waiter looked at me like I had 2 heads

Turning away crab in Maryland is damn near a felony.

But I'm from a Kansas beef family. The only seafood there are catfish and plains oysters and the only crabs anyone caught were from short rides going nowhere....

I never ask to omit anything.
Growing up poor in the hills of Western MD , I learned to eat everything and enjoy it. It served me well in Korea.

Me too, although NOT a fan of Ranch dressing. I just ask for something else.

tomatoes. I don't trust that they won't be super firm and fresh - mealy tomatoes is a total no for me. (cooked/stewed/sauced is fine) But honestly, I hardly ever ask. I don't mind picking them out myself.
