I once had a - bizarre experience - about 20 years ago. I was getting over a failed relationship, and I found an email in my junk file from a previous girlfriend. She wasn't interested in getting back together, but she was very helpful to me. To make a long story short - she suggested we take dance lessons together after I confided to her I had no idea how to. We took a season - or two - and I learned a lot. After that, she didn't want to continue, so I went online to a newsgroup in the area of the dance classes, and I found someone who thought she might like to go with me. But wanted to meet me first.
I drove to the bar in Chevy Chase and was surprised that she was very attractive. I didn't seem to luck out that way much, online. She did mention to me she had some other girlfriends at a table across the bar, watching out for her (I was, after all, a stranger). As the evening wore on, she drank more and more - and became friendly in a way I was very unaccustomed to - well, at least for a decade or two. She wanted to drive me - somewhere - and being - stupid - I went. Well, we didn't make it out of her car, and then she was going to drive me to MY car, which was on the street. She was way too drunk to be driving, and banged it up several times in the parking garage before making it to MY car. At that point, her car died - and her ex-husband came by to help her out - rolling his eyes. I guess he'd seen this behavior before.
I was surprised to learn - she still wanted to go to class with me. Later on that evening, she told me that sort of strange drunken behavior was NOT normal for her - so she had herself checked out and found evidence of some non-specified barbiturate in her system. She was - mildly - accusing me of drugging her.
I couldn't believe it, but while her threat was only mild - I never heard from her again - I was floored. She didn't pass out - if anything, she was aggressive in a fashion I hadn't seen in years. And I WISH I knew a drug that would do THAT.
In retrospect - I suspect she was ALREADY taking drugs that would show positive. I don't even know how I would even GET drugs like that.
I'm just lucky she chose not to press charges. I really didn't need a frivolous lawsuit to screw up my life.
