I just started using an app called "Click to DVD" to create videos and burn to DVDs. It quickly took up all the room on my drive (phew!!). My question if anyone would be so kind to answer is, could I get an external drive like a SImple Tech, Simple drive, and use it as the location where the video files are created and stored? I don't want to use it as a backup, I want it to be the primary location. It seems like there would be no problem but I have said that a million times and was wrong, wrong, wrong. Thanks in advance for your repsonse. BTW the PC is a VIO running XP.

I bought a little 250gb usb2 harddrive from Best Buy for $119. Plug that sucker in, the transfer speeds are good enough for what you want. The drive itself is tiny. It will do what you need to get done at not alot of dough.

mioght be a little late but.. my opinion theres no such thing as external hard drive for games... a usb2 bandwidth its about 450MB/s while sata or even sata 2 are up to 3Gbit/s... yes games use a lot of memory but trust me you dont want a external hdd for games, especially the latest games...

i guess do your research and see what are the bandwidth values for ext hdd... good luck
