No problem, they are beautiful trees. They are a late blooming double blossom. The flower always makes me think of a carnation.
I have that tree also. I thought it was a flowering cherry. When the blossoms fall its like it snowed pink. My son and his friends play in it.

I see them all over the place down here and they're so beautiful. How long do the blooms last? We don't have any of them in our yard......at least not yet!

We had one in our yard in Bowie and it was gorgeous! Looked like it was covered in pink carnations!

kwanzan cherry's are actually the last of the cherries to bloom around here, with okami blooming first, then yoshino (what is at the mall) and finally kwanzan. that is how you can usually tell what cherry it is. a quick tip is to look for the horizontal lines in the bark. then you will always know it is a cherry.
