you did with your kids?

We have tried to go on vacation every year and I tried to pick places that had historical interesting areas that I would drag both of my kids too and make them read the markers whether they liked it or not........:killingme

Spending as much time with their grandparents as possible. I never had the opportunity. Both my grandfathers died the year I was born. One grandmother died when I was 16, but she lived in Florida and we didn't see her often. My other grandmother I knew the best. She was 89 when she died, but we only saw her a couple times a year.

Both sets of the grandparents live close and we visit ( or they visit ) as often as possible and the boys just adore them all!

I try to take as many pictures as possible so they will always have them to look back on. I asked each set of grandparents to write down memories of their childhood experiences and words of wisdom for both my boys so they can read it when they they are older. :yay:

Taking him for hikes in a back pack as a baby and toddler, showing him frogs, snakes and bugs that he was able to hold. He now loves being in the woods exploring, is more conscience about picking up trash and is aware of whats good for the earth.

Spending time with grandparents is one of the best things you can do!

We walked to a carnival Saturday. Then we went to the pool. When we got home I made grilled cheese sandwiches, tomato soup and mac and cheese. Things like that they remember. Not so much the lunch, but just me and the kids having a day together was fun. The walking part was great! You learn alot walking and talking.
Last summer I took them to Purse State Park. No body ever there and the sharks teeth are all over. We also went to Thomas Stone House and the old train station in LaPlata. We had a ball, even though we got chiggers. Claudia went with us. I miss her. I'm so glad we took her. The memories are great!
When we go on vacation I take Emily out to eat alone and I take Cameron to get ice cream. Celie and I build sand castles.

Lots of family functions, time with grandparents and long weekend trips with other family members. Things like Busch Gardens, OC or Nags Head.

If I think back some of my best memories are when my parents got together to play cards with friends/family and all the kids just played all night. Not many people get together and do that anymore.
