SpaceX will attempt a static fire of all 33 Raptor 2 engines in the SuperHeavy Booster today. If its successful, it will become the worlds most powerful rocket ever.

Could blow the whole thing to kingdom come, might abort on the way through the checklist, but if they light it, its gonna be a helluva show.

NASA’s Wallops Island Virginia rocket launches scrubbed due to high winds; rescheduled for Friday​

WALLOPS ISLAND, Va. - - Officials have scrubbed Thursday's rocket launches from NASA's Wallops Island Virginia Flight Facility due to high winds.

The announced came just after 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning. The launch window had originally been set for Thursday morning from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.

The launch is currently scheduled for Friday, Feb. 10 and the two Improved-Orion suborbital sounding rockets will be sent beyond the stratosphere between 8-10 a.m. EST.

No countdown? When's the test.

No countdown. We get to see this from the outside looking in since this facility is so close to public roads that a cottage industry as sprung up of cameras placed to watch, and commentators that joining the feed when things get interesting. We normally have no heads up, its just that people watch the feeds that are live 24/7 and when they see things like cryogenic activity, folks start really watching.

But yesterday, Gwynne Shotwell of SpaceX, who recently took over day to day operations of Starbase mentioned during a conference that they were going to attempt this event today. So everybody was tuned in this morning. Nothings been happening until now. If you pull up the feed now you will see some venting cryo gasses. This is a precursor event to them beginning to fuel the rocket for the test. Most likley wont be a full fuel load, since its a going to a short duration (2-5 seconds will be my guess) event. Just long enough to safely bring all 33 engines to stability, then shut them down.

I'll be monitoring and do a reply to you when it gets close.
