thats all good, but she has a small cut beside her eye, from scratching.Originally posted by crabcake
poor bell-bell ... she may have an allergy to that med. When Emmitt scratched his back up, I bought some of that anti-itch spray stuff for humans and sprayed it on his back, and it seemed to help. I'd tried a ton of other "doggy" products and they didn't help.
when you put that stuff on, just giving 'em a bath doesn't get rid of it. it gets into their coat somehow that just giving 'em a bath doesn't wash it away. let it run it's course, give her some time to heal, and try a different brand.

slap a lampshade on her head until she stops scratching.
if nothing else, it'll be amusing to watch her.
she weighs almost 40 lb. it didn't start until i put her on the frontline, could it be drying her skin out?Originally posted by appyday
How much does she weigh? I give a boxer 1-2 25mg (have to check to make sure) of benadryl..really stops the itching..then you need to find the real problem and cure it..this just fixes the scratching..
i will try the benedryl. till monday an see if it works. if not i will take her to see the vet.Originally posted by appyday
fddog..I have to tell you I am NOT a vet...I just am telling you if it were MY dog...I would give one 25mg benadryl (I looked up the strength of the ones I have)
I dont think it dried her out..she either has gotten fleas in the last week and is allergic to them or she was allergic to the frontline..I dont think that is high on the list
