What's goin' on at Chopticon?

What's going on at Chopticon? I just dropped my daughter off at school and there are cops everywhere. I asked them if I should be alarmed, but they said it was okay. I'm still alarmed. Does anyone know what they are doing there? Looks like they are waiting for someone. I counted 7 just out in the parking lot.

When I pulled up to one group of them, and asked "if I should be alarmed?", the one looked at me and hesitated and said no. I wasn't convinced. Of course my daughter had already made it into the school, so I texted her and told me to text me back if anything comes up. Still worried, though.

7 cops for seat belt checks?

:bs:

When I dropped my dumpling off, there were 5 DARE cars. But yes, they are doing seatbelts checks and also watching the kids come into the parking lots recklessly, cell phone usage while on provisional license etc.

There have been MANY times I've come in or out of the parking lot, and these little hot rods fly through the parking lot, no seatbelt, gabbing on the cell phone, not paying attention.

And yes, I complained. :howdy:

Yeah, right. I think they are looking for something else, but that's what the operator said. I didn't get through to the office, since you have to jump through all kinds of telephone selections to get them, and then you have to know which person you need to talk to. So I just selecte operator. I figured she'd be available to answer her phone.

Just sounds like overkill for seatbelt and reckless driving checks, but when it comes to keeping our kids safe it really doesn't matter what they do as long as the kids are safe.

so who's covering the other reckless drivers throughout the county, not to mention the criminals? Seems like a lot of cops there.

Is anyone ever fricken happy?

Today must have been the day for the school, too bad too sad they were not elsewhere, maybe tomorrow.

I hope they called parents this morning.

Yeah, hello dad, I was yapping on my cell, no seatbelt driving 45 in a 30.

Well, even if there are looking for something else...........good. There are too many kids that think the "sumthin sumthin" is okay, I don't mind the crack down if it teaches them a lesson. No pun intended.

They were doing the same thing at Leonardtown H. S. Last week. They do a big crack down on seat belts etc. Plus it is prom time.

I dunno, that sounds about right. They did one on 234 right next to budds creek, they had 8 police cars, and had a SHA truck, as well as cones and barrels (to funnel you past the police), all for Seatbelt checks
I wish they could just spare one to bust the drug dealer in my neighbor hood. Or even just pass through occasionally.

They should of set it up out on the main road then, not in the parking lot.

Just got off the phone with someone at school. They were checking for seatbelts, cell phone usage and kids on provisionals with people that aren't supposed to be in their cars...

Quite a few kids got their day off to a good start. Luckily (for her), mine wasn't one of them. :lmao:

i dislike this too; give me the list of extensions, before requesting me to know it or else i have to listen to the whole 5 minute spill and if that doesn't list who i need to speak to push this # and i have to listen to another spill..........
i tend to just hang up (if it's not an emergency) and try the email thing and hopefully they get back to me
