So the two vids in the story indicate that it's not just an act and they aren't just paid actors. For them it's real and their opinion is the only legitimate opinion. Their blatant lies are real to them. I stand mega corrected because it was inconceivable to me that anyone could possibly be that obtuse and cocooned, yet here they are.

Next time I say these people are actors who spout lines, remind me of this moment so I'll break my ideological habit.

I've seen this circular reasoning countless times. ANY OPINION of yours, no matter how well sourced and researched is dismissed. You might as well be talking to a flat-earther. ANY OPINION of their own is gospel. It's why they don't bother with freedom of speech - since YOUR opinions are wrong, they shouldn't be allowed.

I was kind of surprised that Jessica Tarlov - not one of my favorite libs but slightly less shrill than a lot of others - was decrying people believing that the election in 2020 was stolen. "Why not? What's wrong with that?".

"Because it's wrong. They shouldn't be saying that".

"WHY? Don't they have freedom to believe what they want?".

She was silent after that, but sometimes it's because it's four against one. On the other hand, she was openly advocating for silencing speech she disagreed with.

Years ago, I read this article - I think it was written by Pat Sajak - and he was mentioning students at university protesting and saying this speaker shouldn't be allowed to speak. Why? he asked. Because he's just wrong.

They just - can't - get it. I could understand it IF they could give a logical explanation of their opinion, but they don't. They have the correct dogma, everyone else is heathen and therefore shouldn't be listened to and shouldn't be tolerated.

She wasn't all up in arms when Hillary Clinton was saying 2016 was stolen and Trump was illegitimate - something she is saying to this day. She doesn't chastise Stacey Abrams when she declares herself the rightful Governor of GA.

Democrats are amazing little hypocrites and they either don't see it or they don't care.
