I remember when we were in Oki there was a "country code" that you had to dial to get a US connection....them you dial 1-the area code-then the number

Guess that's why you dial 1 before the number for long distance calls :shrug:

I thought the country code was 001.. been awhile since I had to dial back to the states, but I thought that's what it was..

Yes it is actually 001 and when dialing internationally from the US you dial 011.
