SUITLAND, Md. - A popular pastor is in critical condition on Wednesday after being shot outside the homeless shelter where he ministered.
The man was shot around 7 a.m. as he was walking into the Warriors For Christ Ministries, located in the 2400 block of Brooks Drive in Suitland.
Prince George's County Police have not released the man's name, but people at the ministry are identifying him as Pastor Milton L. Moore.
Police are canvassing the area and interviewing people who were at work and running on a nearby trail at the time of the shooting, Prince George's police spokeswoman Corporal Diane Richardson says. Some people say they heard an argument near where Moore was found, but police are not sure if he was involved. Other witnesses say they heard multiple shots fired.
Moore is married and has 4 children. Moore has worked at the ministry since February of 1997, according to the Warriors For Christ Ministries Web site.
