When the walls come tumbling down....

While sitting at the Rt 4 and Rt 235 intersection this morning, and watching heavy machinery gobble up the hunks of structure that used to be a steak house, I realized the rumors about this property were now a reality.

Another out of town coorperate convienence machine would soon be adorning the corner. I, as well as of thounsands of motroists through this intersection would now have to endure the veichle chaos that comes with these stores.

This intersection has been recently been identified as one of the worst in all of St. Mary's county. Now in addition to existing volume of traffic, mis-timmed traffic lights, retail mania (Lowes, Bj's, Giant, two tire stores within 50 yards of one another), and every rock head driver that has his or hers little short cut through the intersection we get another F@#%%#@@*** WA-WA !!!!!

With this new store, how long before a Sheetz goes up across the street or next door. How many Wa-Wa's and Sheetz does this small portion of St. Mary's county need, and who in the hell approved them all.

Enough all ready, someone please get a handle on the coorporate greed that has infected this county!!!!:burning:

I knew it had to be a dang WA-WA. Just because there ain't one on the southbound side of 235!!!

NAS PAX closes and St. Mary's turns into a slew of ghost towns.

But that is highly doubtful.

If that's the case, then I wonder how many road entrances would be made around the new Wawa?

One entrance from rt 235?

one entrance from Rt 4?

one entrance from behind (First Colony)?

Where are my pants?
They'll probably make it the most inaccessible traffic hazard possible. It is their way.

I've said since the day that I moved down here, though, that the man who opens an Olive Garden in lower St. Mary's will be a rich one...

I vote for Door No. 3, even though it's an inconvenience for people trying to get to the Wawa. Better that than causing accidents on major roads. I hope the Wawa people learned a little from Sheetz's experience at the old Hewitt's location.

Stop it! :bonk:

#1 son said to me one day "Did you know that there's a bird called a Wawa? You know that bird that's on the Wawa sign? That's a Wawa bird"

My response: "There's a bird on the Wawa sign?" I had never noticed it.

I just think that it is sad that the locally owned chains have been forced out of business. The old Highs/ 7-11 lasted less than a year after Sheetz opened. It was a corporate name but was an independent franchise. Same thing with the Dash-In's ,they get passed right by as folks truck on to WaWa or Sheetz now.

I really miss the old 7-11 at the end of Great Mills Rd, at Route 5.
It was a great place to hang out.
Nice apartments too.
