The longest unambiguously documented lifespan is that of Jeanne Calment of France (1875–1997), who was aged 122 years.

Smoking led to her death and she did not quite smoking early enough because within just five years of quiting she died. If she didn't smoke she might have lived to 123 years old!

maybe if she'd never quit she'd have hit the big 125 :yahoo: betcha it was the withdrawals that finally caught up to her... :whistle: (this coming from a nonsmoker btw :smile: to each his own)
