Second... it does NOT make her any less black. What is does though is identify that the entire slavery issue is much broader than what is often told or 'complained' about. People seeking publicity or 'reperations' for slavery do not like to acknowledge this little fact and that is because there is nothing to GAIN from it. Kind of like when a person buys something from McDonalds and they get sick from it. They don't go after the farmer that raised the cow and sold it to the corporation. They go after the corporation because... well, you know why.
