Where are we on God's timetable?

Anyone care to share thoughts on Biblical end-time events and what is playing out on the world stage currently?

I'll share some thoughts here, maybe more later.

I can't help but think that the US has been brought down (needed to be brought down) from our dominance on the world stage so that things that are taking place right now could actually take place. Personally, believing end time events that state all nations would come against Israel, I always thought that the US would not be a superpower when that time came. I couldn't even imagine how that would happen - but here we are. Yes, we are still Israel's ally, but how much longer can we support them with the drain on our resources? The Bible tells us that the Lord sets up and takes down rulers. God has his hand in everything. There has to be a reason that such incompetence and corruption has been allowed to take over the US. (Of course, many factors play into this. One, for instance, is the dumbing down of America. Another is our falling away from God.)

For years I have also been interested in how we are able to be constantly tracked now. Satellites can now track our every move either while in our car or by us carrying our phones, and we have stepped closer to people receiving micro-chips. This would all play into Biblical prophecy of 'no man being able to buy or sell except they have the mark of the beast'. Also, think about how easy it will be in a cashless society to be able to 'turn off' your buying power.

Any interest in this topic? Any other thoughts on what is happening around the world today?

Well, I am not sure if this is along the lines of your thought process here but many are awaiting the anti-Christ to take a seat in Israel.

I believe he has already done that. In the past 4 years, we have been hit with a tsunami of transgender ideology. According to the bible, in the book of Genesis, we were all created in the image of God. We were created perfect. Now, with this new threat of gender non-sense, you are being told you are NOT perfect and you can pick your gender. Lefties want to jam this down the throats of our children at a young age. By doing this and not fighting back, we have stuck a thumb in the creators eye as a final rebellion against God. Pope Benedict IVI mentioned this 2 months before being forced to retire in Rome and on his final day, lightening struck the Vatican.

Where are hormonal drugs made for transgenders? Israel - and guess who has been doing sex change operations? Israel.

Satan already sits on the throne in Israel. So as the world sits screaming to protect Israel, we have to wonder, if they would go against God, why would you believe all you have been told about the conflicts with the Palestine people?

One world religion is already in the works.

Yuval Noah Harari lives in Israel with his husband.

We are here - this is the stage.

Remember during covid? Many places required the UCR code to enter concerts, stores, etc. Just because we didn't see the full scope of this in the U.S., doesn't mean it didn't exist all around the world. It did and it still does today.

At this point, it wouldn't take much to get this in play all around the world. And besides, I wouldn't be surprised if this entire country just blew up and scattered into pieces. It is clearly obvious that a large majority of Washington hates us.

In reflection, we can see how we gave little by little away. We think we are comprising but it never ends there, it is always more and more until they have chipped away at a society gutting it of all moral decency.

End times story is metaphoric. And, has nothing to do with religion. The real end times will come when the Sun goes micro-nova, or when the Earth tilts when the magnetic poles shift. That, will be the end of life as we know it.

However, there are very evil forces that want to control everyone in every way possible. There are too many that will not allow evil to succeed, once a precipice has been reached. What is that precipice? That is the great unknown.

People are waking up to what Israel is doing, and has done. If there is a destruction of Israel, it will be caused by their own hand.

Yep and I do not believe it will end well for Israel at all.

"End times story is metaphoric."

I think of it as a story that will give you a big reveal at the end. An end of an age, where we see the truth but not actually an end of society - just an end to society as we know it.

Israel = lies
Ukraine = lies

I could type a long post explaining why I feel that way but people have to research and decide for themselves.

I never bother to speculate on whether we are in Biblical end times. The world has been in turmoil before, and WMD's aside - the world has been much more BLOODY in the past. Even in the case of our own nation, where crime has spiked in the cities - data shows that violent crime peaked 30 years ago.

We ALWAYS think that today is the worst of days. It's just not true.

But the REASON I don't speculate is that Jesus told us two very important things - and one was that HE HIMSELF didn't know when it was coming - but only his Father in heaven. A generation after ascended - the bloodshed in Israel was unlike anything the world had seen - until then. And people were CERTAIN that the end had come.

The second thing he said was - be ready. Have your house in order. Set your lives in such a way that if it comes, you'll be ok. He didn't mean stockpile food, sit with your binoculars and be obsessed with looking for signs. Just - live your life in such a way that you won't be thinking about undoing all the bad you've done. If you keep your laundry clean, you don't have to be caught with dirty linens.

This is worth the listen if you are interested in God's time table which IS much different than the ways we have been taught in the past.

Personally, THIS confirmed so much of the thoughts spinning in my head over Revelations.

The 40 ish min mark - clearly how I have felt.

Every generation since Biblical times thought End Times was at hand and has pointed to ambiguous signs to support their theory.

I don't believe in stuff like that. I think what Christians call God and Satan is inherent in human nature in varying degrees. When you think about it, Man is an aberration of nature like a number of other creatures on this planet that have gone extinct. Mother Nature's like, "Yeah, you're not working out...have a predator. Have some climate change. And some tectonic plate shift for good measure. Oh! A comet!" At some point we'll go extinct, but it won't be in our lifetime. Maybe a billion years or something, not worth worrying about.

BUT! I'd think Christians would welcome the Apocalypse because it's the catalyst for God to come back to Earth and straighten everything out. If you believe in the Bible, God is going to win against Satan and I for one cannot wait. I'd like that to happen right now.

The Wailing (Western) Wall still stands.

Al-Aqsa (The Dome of the Rock) still stands atop the Temple Mount instead of a Third Jewish Temple.

So, we're not there yet. None of the trumpets have sounded yet, from what I can see. I'm not counting on the Second Coming happening in my lifetime. Hopefully not in my children's lifetimes either.

God has his hand in everything. There has to be a reason that such incompetence and corruption has been allowed to take over the US.

I disagree that God has a hand in everything. I believe that God has deliberately removed His hand quite some time ago, and has been sitting back watching His creation in amusement, disgust, delight and despair and no small amount of "WTF?" - and will continue to do so until such a time comes, when He says, "OK a-holes, that's enough." And while He may be leaning forward with a raised eyebrow, He hasn't drawn His hand back to smack the ever loving shit out of a species that is quite deserving of having the shit smacked out of them.

The incompetence and corruption you mention is not God drawing us inexorably to destruction. It is all pure human ****ery, IMO.

Intellectual laziness. Greed. Pride. Narcissism. These are the characteristics which contribute to the incompetence and corruption you describe. And it is a natural progression, which unfortunately has been greatly accelerated by social media and various technological advances, which instead of bringing us together as a species and leading us into the stars, has brought out the absolute worst in us and surprisingly has driven us apart.

The only saving grace is that the characteristics I just mentioned are weeded out of most functioning people in the majority of the population when they transition into responsible adults - except for the segments of the population that is considered to be the top strata: politicians, celebrities, corporations. These are all huge draws for high-functioning sociopaths, narcissists and sundry megalomaniacs, as they are all positions of leadership and power. Therefore they are the most visible of society, which paints an unfortunate picture of our species, and provides a self-fulfilling prophecy. But still, we normal people, down here in the pits toiling away for those scumbags, who still possess altruism, selflessness, responsibility and true intellectual pursuit, outnumber the above by a considerable margin.

So far.

When we no longer outnumber them, THAT is when I would look for the destruction of the Western Wall, the construction of the Third Temple and other harbingers of the realization of the Revelation of John. I don't necessarily believe in the traditional view of The Rapture - but if it does happen, the good people, who no longer outnumber the bad, will be whisked off and then you'll really see the depths that people can sink. If you think the corruption and incompetence is bad now, wait until decent people no longer slow the descent.

Tl;dr - God is allowing it, but he's not causing it.

The Mark of the Beast will be taken willfully, and with an expressed rejection of God. Currently there are no chips, or trackers which require such a rejection, so these things are not the mark of the beast.

They most probably will be someday, or be involved somehow - but it's not that now.

Christian eschatology has been an interest of mine my adult life - even before I was a believer. So, yeah.

Maybe a billion years or something, not worth worrying about.

Long before a billion years, we will have evolved into something better, or have wiped our own damned selves out. I believe that we should advance to a degree that any threat, whether cosmic or metaphysical, will be able to be easily surmounted.

If a tectonic plate is shifting, we can lift any cities out of impending doom and place it somewhere safe. If a comet is coming, we can divert it, or open one/two strategically placed wormhole(s) to neutralize danger. If our sun goes supernova, we can zip off to another M-Class planet that hasn't been claimed.

IMO: Human beings, as we know them, will be extinct - but not like mammoths or dinosaurs. We'll be extinct like Cro-magnons or neanderthals - i.e. graduated to something better.

BUT! I'd think Christians would welcome the Apocalypse because it's the catalyst for God to come back to Earth and straighten everything out. If you believe in the Bible, God is going to win against Satan and I for one cannot wait. I'd like that to happen right now.

Er... no.

As a Christian - I am ****ing terrified of the Apocalypse. If I have to live through it, it will be most unpleasant. It's akin to going to heaven. Yeah - I want to go to heaven. I just don't want to die. -- Yeah, I want Jesus to come back, but I don't want to go through the prophesied tribulation that comes before that.

And before anyone mentions the dichotomy between the preceding paragraphs and that last one, I am quite aware of the apparent paradox. How can you believe that humans will evolved if the world ends. Quite simply, I do not believe the Apocalypse is The End. There are no prophecies beyond that, but it's not the coda of humanity.

I remember a quote, (by Churchill, I think) that perfectly sums up what I believe the Revelation of John is:
"This is not the end. This is not the beginning of the end. It is the end of the beginning"

But can't you see Oog and Gronk looking into the future at us and going, "What the....? THAT'S evolution???"

Maybe "better" is humans will all be AI bots. :jet:

Anyway, when I was a kid I dreamed of seeing the things that I read about - whether it was NYC and Disney World, or Revolutionary War and the Holocaust. I love travel, so time travel? Heck yeah, sign me up! It's disturbing but also exciting to be living right now through major events that some kid like me will read about 100 years from now, and I wonder what they'll think and how their life will be.

Granted, I'm not locked in a cage with all my loved ones slaughtered, waiting to be herded into a gas chamber, and with that perspective I try not to be a big baby about life things. I try to look at what's going on with an eye toward human behavior, because I find that endlessly fascinating. (Until they get so stupid they bore me, then I have to take a break.)

We like to think humanity has changed and evolved, but we haven't really.
