The Amish own and operate all of the local Bowling Alleys, Movie Theatres and Pool Halls.

They Live in the back rooms.

The Amish are so cool! They live in big farm style house throughout Northern St. Marys. Check out Rt. 5 outside of Leonardtown heading towards Rt. 235. On your right just in front of Third Base you will see the "Hen Yard!" You can get the coolest puppy food at the Hen yard! They'll even fix your lawn mower!

I love the Amish!

When I was driving a truck full-time I would go to the "hen yard" to deliver feed....the first time I went in there I thought all the men were going to :faint:....Apparently some of them had not seen a woman driving a big truck before

There are a number of families that live on Budd's Creek Road.

The Amish Road :lmao: but I think the highway is Rt. 236. Just go north on Rt. 234 for a bit and its right after the Speedway...or whatever that drag strip is called.

Some live on the base in an amish internment camp that was set up in the early 1940s to provide homeade bread and jams for the troops. They get work visa's and are allowed to travel off the base during certain hours to sell produce.

This is fun right?
I believe the Families around Loveville are mainly Mennonite ( click ) , and the Families around Budds Creek are mostly Amish ( click ).

The 2 communities interact and know each other, Elam at Loveville Leather knows Omer at Ryceville very well. but there is a difference

Amish homes aren't easily distinguishable from regular old farmhouses. They don't live in log cabins or anything like that.

But a trek through the backroads of Charlotte Hall and Mechanicsville you'll see peppered with lots of amish farmhouse and barns.

I don't know about windmills, and I've never seen their carriages left out front. But if a house doesn't have any electric/phone cables running towards it, it's probably amish.
