I recently moved here to Charles County.
Is there anywhere in this area where I
can hear some sweet REGGAE Music?

On occassion SMC has some reggae - but that's generally for their students.

A long time back one of the Solomons bars attempted Reggae, but it turned out to be calypso and it didn't bring in a good crowd. Don't think its been there since.

Charles County isn't in Southern Maryland.

You could check out hydrafx, they are pretty close to sounding like sublime. Little bit of reggae dub thrown in there.

Southern Maryland goes South from N38° 32' 33". Above that on the LEFT of the Patuxent is Marion Barry country and on the right of the Patuxent is the Blue State of Maryland.

YES!

Get yourself a Columbia House membership and order some CDs, mon, and buy yourself a decent CD player like you see in the shoppin' mall. Then you can listen to some sweet Raggae wherever your player is, mon. An' den, weebie jammin'!

Or, you can watch the TV series, "Cops." "Bad boy bad boy, whatchagonnado, whatchagonnado when dey come for you bad boy bad boy...."

You can get some spanish reggae on Latin Night at Cadillac Jacks in Lexington Park about twice a month. Catarman's in Solomons tend to play a lot of Reggae......at least when I go. Other than that....you would have to go to Dream nightclub off of New York Ave in DC where they have a floor strictly for Reggae. Club Millenium in Hyattsville off of University Blvd also caters to Reggae. And there's another club (I forgot the name) in Bladensburg, which is strictly for Reggae music.

4 give the rude ass comments...these people wouldn't know real music if it came in a Budweiser 12 pack :lmao:

Legends in Waldorf & Club Icon are known to play reggae...but the best spots are in DC which isn't far from Charles County (depending on how far south you are)

I'm new here but I was kind of suprised by all the bs comments made by people just because someone asked a question about reggae music. I love most types of music myself and if you're ever down south on Thursday night, Bowens in Solomons has a fun open-mic night that has a bit of everything.
