What area? And what do you classify as expensive? JC Penneys always has a huge selection to chose from.

JCP is having a really good sale right now on home furnishings and accessories.

You might want to check Lowes. They actually have a decent selection of items at pretty good prices.

Like you would actually hang JCP curains. Tell the truth, you are having yours custom made by the Coach Purse people.

Oh anywhere in somd is fine, I dont mind driving.

Hmm... Since im not trying to get anything super fancy I just want to get two curtains (not floor length) and I wouldnt want to pay more than 40 bucks for both of them. Is that unreasonable? I have no idea how much curtains actually cost? I have to buy the rods too.

Check Target, than Lowes then JC Penneys. BTW, You can reverse the order if the JC Penneys sale is a good one.

First of all, what room are the curtains to be hung in? As for rods, Wal-Mart has plenty and they also have a nice selection of curtains. As for Lowe's, ah, I would think twice before going there, my son was looking for rods and curtains for a newly decorated room and he said they were pricey.
I have looked at JCP and they do have a nice selection depending again on what room.
Bed,Bath and Beyond in Waldorf have nice selection of both.

Flat sheets work. Cut off the ends on the top, put your rod through and VOILA!

You probably already have something in your closet you can use.

You don't want/need floor length? Cut the sheet and hem, or hide the uneven/frayed bottom with a piece of furniture.

Overstock.com has a decent selection if you don't want to go here/there/everywhere.

I actually have cloth napkins for a "valance" in my kitchen. I've seen the sheet idea and it's a great alternative.

Back in the old days, I used sheets for all decorating.

IE: An old couch, staple gun, some flat sheets and a cool new couch would emerge.

Sheets were/are less expensive than nice fabric or ready made.

Nowadays they tend to sell sheets in sets. :ohwell:

I also used to be creative.

My S-I-L did that with sheets. They have a big window in their upstairs living room, so she took sheets and draped (no pun intended) them over and down the curtain rod. Worked out pretty well. They are still hanging there.

The Christmas Tree Store in Waldorf has a large selection of curtains and even curtain rods for very low prices. Everyone is correct. I was at JCP today and they are having a sale. Target has a nice selection of curtains.

how 'bout Kohl's? JCP is good tho...take your time, look at pics of the expensive houses on the market for decorating ideas. for me, inspiration has to come from somewhere - i'm just not very creative, so i try to copy "the look". good luck & have fun w/it!
