Sadly our 10 year old dog died last month (it was heartbreaking for my 9 yr old daughter)

Dd4 doesn't understand that he is gone and keeps calling for him :(

Dh thinks we should get another dog soon. I am kind of leary because it broke my heart listening to my dd cry for 2 days straight.

I am just looking for now, but where would you guys recommend I look.

I like Rots, but only purebred.. mixing a Rot with ANYthing scares me, and then mixing it with a DOBERMAN!?? NO way! Definetly NOT with kids!

TOTALLY AGREES!!! I have a ROTTI, an he is the most playful, dog, and LOVES KIDS...but yes, he's a purebred, an dont think because its a Rotti, it could have that change of heart one day and flip out, you raise them well, they will NEVER NEVER hurt anyone, but they can be protective also, someone wants to hurt you..they will defend you...Rotti's have big hearts, and love attention, they CRAVE it....mine is 140lb house dog(an he's still growing), sometimes a lap dog, an I wouldn change dogs if my life depended on it...but not all Rottis are that big, you can find the ones that run around 90-100lbs also..

But Im a vote for a Rotti
