I've been collecting them for a while. They are put out by The White House Historical Association. TWHHA uses their funds to purchase furnishings that the president and his first lady require for the white house. I CAN NOT WAIT TO SEE THE CHINA TRUMP PICKS FOR HIS NEW BALLROOM! (which will be paid for by this organization).

Anyway....

These ornaments are dedicated to a president every year, this year, 2025, was Reagan. Every ornament comes with a little booklet giving a short synopsis of the presidential term, all interesting reading.

As I'm boxing them up today, I took the time to read the booklets. Presidents serving 2 (or more) terms have one ornament. Because Grover Cleveland served 2 non-consecutive terms, there are two ornaments for him. Both booklets make a big deal that he is the only president that will ever have 2 ornaments.

Little did THEY know.

According to my calculations, Trump's first ornament should come out in 2030, with a second to follow in 2032. I'm sure writing these little synopsis will become harder as the presidency is closer in the past.

I can hardly wait.

We used to have a neighbor that gifted us with them every year. Many of them sell for between $8 and $25; the older ones go higher.
I always pick them up when I see them at yard sales and thrift stores because they do sell!

It might be the Biden years Xmas fireplace mantle, a red x where his granddaughter Navy's stocking should be hung but wasn't.

We typically have two trees at Christmas (one year, I think we had about 7 or 8). One is for looks and is visible from the street - the other is the "family" tree and is decorated with NOTHING BUT White House ornaments - of which my wife has about 3 or 4 dozen - and the Danbury Mint gold plated ones (and I've lost count). We only JUST put the WH ones away yesterday. Since we keep them in the original boxes - and they come in all shapes - and the boxes are not always precisely marked (like, with a picture of the ornament) - well it took a while. It was like assembling one of those jigsaw puzzles with non-standard shapes.
