Whitmer, who has drawn criticism for the coronavirus restrictions she’s implemented, noted that while Michigan has put a hold on performing all elective surgeries, abortions can still be performed in the state and are considered essential.“We stopped elective surgeries here in Michigan,” she said. “Some people have tried to say that that type of a procedure is considered the same and that’s ridiculous,” she added, referring to abortion.

Basically elective surgery in most hospitals now is based on whether you can walk in for the procedure or not.
If you aren't transported by ambulance through through the ER, don't count on getting anything done.

I've seen the big water cannon in action..up close and personal. I managed to get myself on the wrong side of Hamburg, Germany when the Unification Day celebrations turned in to riots. It's pretty impressive how those big water cannon can sweep a lot of people off their feet and skidding down the asphalt in to piles...

Point of clarification: it's Gov. Whitless, not Whitmer. Regardless, the queen of condescension. And she doubled down this morning on her stupidity.

Dana Perino made the comment today (correct, I think) that Whitless' actions probably killed her chances to be Biden's running mate.

Anyway, I wish I could participate in the recall petition. If we had been able to move when we hoped to have done, then I would. Alas, not this time.

Whitmer is a dictatorial tyrant who has instituted perhaps the most severe shutdown in the United States. Michiganders aren’t allowed to plant gardens in their own yards. Certain aisles in stores are blocked off because the Whitmeristas in the state government have decided that the citizens don’t need to legally purchase the merchandise offered in them. She has forbidden people to travel between homes that they own.

She’s a nightmare.

And she appears to enjoy it.

Yeah, I get it. But then why should out-of-state residents be allowed to travel to their second homes in MI?

In any event, my problem with Whitmer is the sum total of her measures; by what she has forbidden (noted in my post) and by what she continues to allow (abortions, lottery ticket purchases, etc.). It's capricious at best and reflects her authoritarian agenda which tramples classic civil liberties at the expense of progressive travesties.
