The strategies have varied...and some have been in effect for years. BUT...I have my own sound reasons to take a position on all of the following.
Are you willing to have your consumer $$ used for causes that openly despise you or funding politicians who have declared war on your values?
If the stock prices are linked to declining sales...it may(?) actually impact the CEO & trustees. However, key NYC funds seem to be willing to take the hit, and thus hurt both consumers AND investors simultaneously...just to scream about an agenda.
Unlimited selection for your vote.
If you care to justify/defend your decisions...let us in on your views.
Just remember, certain elements of the media will consider you an economic terrorist.

Also on my list is Cracker Barrel (this was my first boycott when they took out the duck dynasty merch), Gillette, and Dicks Sporting Goods.

Dicks Sporting Goods
I was the Gun Guy at the Dick's in Rockford, IL. from May 96 - October 2002 (fulltime) and November 2002 - February 2005 (part time).
Dick passed away 1 April 1997, complications from Alzheimer's.
I got a job at Lowe's FT because Ed Stack (Dick's son, CEO/President/Chairman) and his college buddy Bill Columbo (COO/CFO) were cooking the books to go public. I had been getting 45 - 50 hours a week. They cut full time for keeping benefits to 30 hours a week.
I finally left for good when Ed and Bill's disdain for the Hunters, Anglers and Campers upon whose patronage Dick built the business was becoming more and more apparent.
I would still shop there once in a while, until their anti-2A disdain became full blown. The local store is the last one in the district that has any firearms and ammo.

Also, I've been boycotting Apple® since early 1982.

I'm not boycotting anyone. I buy what I want if it fits my needs and meets my price. Boycotts are the strategy that the extreme woke left used against Rush Limbaugh years ago without success and tried to continue using against anyone they didn't like. I'm not going to be a part of that. That's a leftist strategy and I am not going to use their loser tactics!

I don't patronize any of the above enough, some never at all, that they would notice if I boycotted. It's also hard to boycott some companies completely when they have their hands in so many pots that we don't know about.

That. ^^^

None of those are places or products that I use.

Probably the only thing I could say I boycott, at least unofficially, is Hollywood. Television and Movies have become unwatchable for the most part due to the PC/Woke/Inclusion/Equity/Anti-Capitalist bullshit.

It overshadows the stories and characters everywhere it's implemented.

Huh, I guess I never really saw it as boycotting, more just shopping choices.

Most of that list was never in my world, so hard to stop. But I have to say, I did stop buying Ben & Jerrys to quietly protest their life views.

And I sure do miss it. So who am I really hurting?

I don't patronize any of the listed businesses, so I selected all of them. Dick's is the only one I can honestly say that it's because of their woke BS in regards to guns. I used to drop in from time to time for a fishing lure or 2, but now I find somewhere else to buy my trinkets.

I don't "boycott" anything - but the openly braying of political issues does cause me to go elsewhere. I have no idea why some on that list are being boycotted by anyone - I subscribe to Disney+ but most of the rest just aren't in my world. I don't shop at Target because most of their basic stuff is overpriced in comparison to their quality - if I am buying clothing I prefer a clothing store with staff who are helpful rather than clueless ones who MIGHT know which aisle to look in.

The last time I went to Target - because the Internet said some obscure item was on their shelf (it wasn't) there was a line all the way into the main part of the store - to use the SELF-CHECKOUT. Most of the other registers were empty, unmanned. I just left at that point.

Starbucks is just obscenely overpriced crap. Even my kids don't want their stuff. Ditto Ben and Jerry's, plus - I'm just not a fan of ice cream with tons of other stuff jammed in it. I prefer it to be high quality but one flavor maybe two.

I don't drink and when I did, I never drank Bud unless I wanted to be sick or have a headache. Their products are foul.

I do however, avoid movies - even at home when they're free - when an actor with a loud mouth in politics or social issues is on. It just nauseates me to watch someone who campaigns against guns but makes their living shooting them on the screen. Who rails against politicians for their lack of interest in climate change bills, but openly leave a carbon footprint that exceeds that of my entire neighborhood.

I'm boycotting B&J's because I'm fat, Starbucks because I don't like their coffee, Disney because I'm not twelve, Nike because once again I'm fat, Budweiser because I quit drinking. Professional sports I'm actually boycotting, football in particular, just because of changing the rules all of the time.

So Liberals/Apathetic who feel boycotts are "Economic terrorism" or totally useless....you know the NAACP used boycotts back in the 1910's to protest 'Birth of a Nation' (you know...the film Democrat Wilson showed in the Whitehouse & praised...that one)...and MLK Jr effectively used the bus boycott to cripple Montgomery Alabama's discriminatory policies.
The boycotts against Rush were generally ineffective and actually led to an INCREASE in market awareness in some cases. oops.
This form of passive resistance has a vital place in our society and should be used as a tool to empower consumers.
Socialist & communist nations have so little product to use as a tool...that only strikes get their attention (ie Gdansk). (and violence is often not far away)
I would prefer boycotts to escalation...however, the Boston Tea party has a dear place in my heart and would NOT object to that approach.

ESG...I thought there might be a posting on that somewhere on the forum. It is socially driven investing platform that conforms to environmental, social & governance objectives pushed by leftist activists. Their funds perform poorly, yet major corporations feel pressure to participate in elements like New Green Deal objectives and LGBQ ++ sanctimonious quota hiring & celebration garbage. The funds are forced on various portfolios and major financial engines have it as part of their IRA portfolios.
