So who all is planning on taking the camera out to get some images of Independence Day Firework?

In bulb exposure the shutter stays open as long as you want(shutter stays open as long as button is pushed). Then cover the lens with a card and remove it during explosions. Basically its multi exposure.

JBR,
Do you have any tips for shooting fireworks?

I'm in Delaware for the weekend and I've been told there are fireworks directly down the beach. It's a bit breezy tonight, will have to find somewhere protected if it's windy tomorrow.

Couple tips...

1) Use a tripod!
2) ISO 100
3) Use an aperature around F8-F11
4) Set shutter speed to bulb, or if you don't have that ability you can try hit or miss with shutter speeds of around 2 seconds to 5 seconds.
5) MANUAL focus, a bit back of infinity.
6) If you do have bulb take a black or other dark baseball cap and use it as a light block, easy peasy!

Have fun! :)
