I was checking out a parenting forum, and found this post:

Well...I'm really young, i'm sixteen years old. I have four children; Justin (3) Alannah (17 months) & Twin Boys Kylar & Kevin (6 Months). I got pregnant with Justin at twelve years old, Alannah at fourteen, and twins at fifteen. I'm thirteen weeks pregnant with baby #5. I'm engaged to the man of my dreams who is the father of all of my children.

Well apparently her parents were somewhat lacking in their parenting skills.

No one explained the birds & bees to her?

If my 12-yo got pregnant, bebedaddy wouldn't be able to father anymore, even if I let him live, which I doubt.

that is extremely sad, babies having babies.

You know, back in the day it wasn't unusual for girls to be married at 13 and mothers by 14.

I'm curious why we now frown on that as a society. Not that I'd let some sumbeech touch my young teen, because I'm as societally conditioned as everyone else.

But back then supposedly there wasn't crime and drugs and icky behavior, and girls married very young, and to significantly older men. Now there's all this ugliness in the world, but we have laws that prevent a 13 year old from marrying at all, much less to a 30 year old man.

Just meandering.....

When the life expectancy is 45, relatively speaking 13 or 14 is almost mid-life.
