I put down mulch in the middle of winter last year and it really was the best thing I ever did. I now have a pile of chips rotting and will soon do the same - weather depending.

Went to Lowes to get more mulch. Nada. They only have the crappy brown and red stuff left. Probably have to wait until late Jan or Feb.

Dyson's had several pallet loads of mulch, but I think it was all the typical pine bark stuff and not the shredded exotic endangered Amazon jungle tree species stuff you prefer.

Nah. I don't use the Amazon stuff. I prefer to use locally sourced materials. I have logging rights to the Cypress Swamp in Prince Frederick.
