Whole Foods, etc

Since moving down from Maine last year my wife and I have been "jonesing" for the Whole Foods grocery store we had easy access to up north (it was previously a Wild Oats). We've seen and visited the one in Annapolis, but as more development occurs on 235 we are hoping that we'll see one someday here in California/LP and not have to take such a long drive for a fix.

We have hopes that one day we'll see one locally. When we first arrived there was no Dunkin and we had break that ice coffee addiction. But lo and behold, one arrived... and addiction restarted! Wishful thinking can come true!

Mmm, I love Whole Foods; there's also one in Rockville, though I'm sure that's farther than Annapolis. There's also a Trader Joe's in Annapolis. If you've never been you've got to try it :starcat:

We frequent Whole Foods and Trader Joes as often as possible and mourn the absence of them here in Southern MD. Have you checked out the Whole Foods on Duke Street in Old Town Alexandria? There is a Trader Joes a couple miles from it too.

I've been to a few different Trader Joe's but never a Whole Foods. I'm definitely curious to see what they have in their store.

You must really love it! Whole foods costs major moola. And driving 45 minutes to get there doesn't make it any cheaper. However, if you are holding out for one it's a good thing you're in St. Mary's. Building anything here in Calvert takes an act of God!

Eating healthy can definitely run the grocery bill up quickly. Lean cuts of beef and hamburger; skinless/boneless chicken breasts, fresh fish... :nomoney:

Oh, and asparagus! :yay:

It can seem that way but then again we (people who buy and eat healthy foods) are not spending money on a lot of fast foods, candy, etc... so I think it pretty much evens out.

I make sure my family eats as healthy as possible but, whole foods is ridiculous. I use Door to Door Organics for produce as well as the occasional run to the organic isle of giant. We eat very little meat, so what we do eat is mostly free range beef or chicken. Plus now I've read too much to keep consuming dairy!!!

:howdy: yea, um, there is a natural foods store in downtown Leonardtown on Park avenue (the side street by Corner Critters).
Its called the Good Earth Natural Foods Co. and not only do they have an awesome "whole foods" selection but they have locally grown organic produce, local free range eggs, organic meats, vegetarian foodstuffs and they are now making vegetarian sushi. YUM!!!!

They even have an organic beer and wine selection and bulk food/snacks/candies.

AND, if you can't find it they can and will special order it.

go..... The Good Earth Natural Foods Company

Call for hours 301-475-1630
