Iraq's interim Prime Minister Iyad Allawi on Thursday issued a "final call" to Shiite militants in Najaf to disarm and vacate the holy Imam Ali Shrine before the Iraqi military launches an offensive to rout them out of the compound.

Hours later, at least 10 explosions shook the Old City section of Najaf
