* FLOOD WATCH TO INCLUDE PORTIONS OF MARYLAND...THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA AND VIRGINIA...INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING AREAS...IN MARYLAND...ANNE ARUNDEL...CALVERT...CHARLES...HARFORD... HOWARD...MONTGOMERY...NORTHERN BALTIMORE...PRINCE GEORGES... SOUTHERN BALTIMORE AND ST. MARYS. THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA. IN VIRGINIA...ARLINGTON/FALLS CHURCH/ALEXANDRIA...FAIRFAX...KING GEORGE...ORANGE...PRINCE WILLIAM/MANASSAS/MANASSAS PARK... SPOTSYLVANIA AND STAFFORD.

* THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING

* A STALLED FRONTAL BOUNDARY...AN ABNORMALLY MOIST AIR MASS FOR OCTOBER...AND FLOW OFF OF THE ATLANTIC AND GULF OF MEXICO WILL ALL COMBINE TO PROVIDE POTENTIALLY HEAVY RAIN TO THE AREA. AN ADDITIONAL 1 TO 3 INCHES OF RAIN WILL BE POSSIBLE ACROSS THE WATCH AREA WITH THE HIGHEST AMOUNTS IN A CORRIDOR FROM FREDERICKSBURG NORTHEAST THROUGH WASHINGTON DC AND BALTIMORE. RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAIN COULD RESULT IN SMALL STREAM AND URBAN FLOODING. IN ADDITION...THUNDERSTORMS MAY BRING INTENSE RAINFALL RATES WITH COULD CAUSE FLASH FLOODING AS WELL. RAIN IS EXPECTED TO END BY EARLY SATURDAY AFTERNOON.

A FLOOD WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR FLOODING BASED ON CURRENT FORECASTS.

YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE ALERT FOR POSSIBLE FLOOD WARNINGS. THOSE LIVING IN AREAS PRONE TO FLOODING SHOULD BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION SHOULD FLOODING DEVELOP.

I'm hoping they do. No word yet though. This is Westlake's homecoming, so it's their decision to make.

Homecoming? They won't put it off until tomorrow then. They'll want that game under their belts before the dance, but not just 3 hours before the dance.

I was just thinking their cheer squad wouldn't show and the spectators would be primarily male. Boys don't care. Walk of the field, grab a shower, get dressed and they'd be ready for the dance.

Yeah, but if their cheerleaders have as much time invested in their homecoming halftime as our did, I'd be one pizzed off cheerleader...

It will take YEARS to raise the water table from the few hundred feet it's at now. The ponds, rivers, and lakes are getting back some of what they have lost...very good thing.
