Love that quote! I never heard it before. It is the thing I learned today. It made me think of those box/mirror things to look at the sun because we cannot look at it directly. We hope the sun will last long enough to sustain us on Earth. In the same turn, we cannot look directly at God in our human life, but hope he sustains us after death. It is called Faith.

Man, I'm still here !!!
I don't believe anymore, too much hurt happening to good people and not enough hurt happening to bad people.... Two recent events, the three good Samaritans that were killed stopping for a women on a dark road when she hit a black bear, and the woman and her two kids hit by plane yesterday! If there is a God, why does he let this happen, good people die. What good comes from that, and BAD people, child molesters, terrorist, murders etc, why does he just not SMITE them right the phuck down...Another example watching MIL suffer, all children have said their good bye, have told MIL we love you, Go in peace, Why does it take two more weeks for HIM to call her ?????????????????????

There is a reason behind every tragic occurrence, even if we can't see that reason for ourselves.

I try to point to something to look at in hindsight. Adam Walsh did great good in this world with America's Most Wanted. But the only reason he started it was because of the kidnapping and murder of his child.

It's easy to lash out in anger and place blame. Take the harder road and find comfort in the grace of G-d and DO something if you are inspired to make a change.

Death is not a bad thing.
None of us are guaranteed any set amount of time and God has numbered our days before we were born.
People die because of sin, the wages of sin is death. Adam sinned and we die as well as all creation because of it. Also there is no such thing as a good person by Gods standard, by mans yes, but God knows our hearts and the Bible says they are deceitfully wicked, we not only lie to others, we lie to our selves as to our true condition. Its for this very reason that we need a savior, and only Jesus could be that savior having lived sinlessly so that his righteousness can be imputed to us. The lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world. God uses sin sinlessly. We cant begin to understand the ways of God or we would be God. We trust in Gods sovereignty that He is in control. Bad things that appear to go unpunished in this world will be handled justly at some point as every man will need to give an account before God.
Romans 2
"5 But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God’s wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed. 6 God “will repay each person according to what they have done.”[a] 7 To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. 8 But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger. 9 There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile; 10 but glory, honor and peace for everyone who does good: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 11 For God does not show favoritism."

I believe simply because I do. Simply because I can see the world, and what it is, and can read the historical content of the Bible, and deduce from there. I believe because I have a hope, a great expectation, that God will do for me as He promised.

Just look at your eyes and the mechanical/chemical functions that make it operate. You think that just happened? The organized clockwork functions of the heavens?

One has to go way out of their way to not believe.
