Why does Musk have a 19 year old geek

working at Doge? Lets see.

The young man in question wrote an algorithm that used AI and allowed for taking the CAT scans of rolled up scrolls burned into cigar form from Pompeii and finding out what they had on them. This young man and the others like him have had three months to craft things to turn all of these "complex" govt accounting systems self snitching fraud detectors. Patterns that would be hard or impossible for a normal person to see will show up as if it was the star in a Vegas show.

This crew will be far more deserving of the Presidential Medal of Freedom than most of the jokers Biden handed them to

Frankly, as someone who cut their teeth on the early internet of setting up IP tables, using gopher, mosaic, I’m not impressed by a kid using AI to transcribe text. We did it by hand!

Maybe boomers still think teens have some inherent technological knowledge.

They don’t, as a teen in the 90s the pressure put on me to figure everything out was stupid in hindsight, I didn’t realize how lazy the boomers were.

Really? What have they actually done, one thing they created.

Was the text wrapped around a cylinder and then carbonized into a black solid seeming mass? And you cannot unroll them. Can you do that?

I did use the future tense. And I suspect, unless stopped by some means they will give us our first clear look into where the hell the trillions go.

Magic Johnson, Lionel Messi? What they do towards freedom? What did they create? What did George Soros create?

Oh my gosh, you had to learn how to use CIDR notation and type your search queries into a terminal box / dos prompt instead of web-page search bar? They should have hired you instead of this kid, clearly you're a prodigy.

You have an enormous appetite for embarrassing yourself.

Since this is so easy and you've been doing it since infancy, BY HAND no less, why aren't you building rockets? Why aren't you ferreting out government waste and transcribing ancient scrolls?

:tap:

Ooooo. So edgy are you. Using the tools available to you of the day. Just like the youth of today. Funny how that works.

Wait until they decide spending money on old people is fraud.

Depends on who is spending what. If you think there's not billions in fraud in elder care are sadly mistaken.
Oh, I'm sure there is, and on a massive scale.

My point was that at some point, spending money on old people period is going to be seen as "fraud, waste, and abuse." I mean it's on the leading edge now.

Go into the Other Law Enforcement News subthread. It's full to the brim with all sorts of folks perpetrating Medicare fraud.

And in typical 3rd world fashion, about half of the names of the criminals are unpronounceable to most Americans. Lots of eastern European types setting up medical equipment offices in Florida. Having mules bring them elderly clients then billing MC for every appliance/service available.

This is the crap I'm talking about:
Four pharmacy owners have been sentenced for their roles in a conspiracy to commit health care fraud and wire fraud.

Pharmacist Raef Hamaed, of Maricopa County, Arizona, was sentenced on Jan. 8 to 10 years in prison; pharmacist Tarek Fakhuri, of Windsor, Ontario, Canada, was sentenced on Jan. 13 to seven years in prison; pharmacist Ali Abdelrazzaq, of Macomb County, Michigan, was sentenced on Jan. 15 to two years in prison; and pharmacist Kindy Ghussin, of Greene County, Ohio, was sentenced today to five years and five months in prison.

Previous job I had required me to research small businesses via the SBA website for contract set asides. While researching, you can't imagine the number of small IT companies that all had Achmed Afladfjou listed as President and CEO of said company. Not all  but so many guys with foreign names were listed as Prez/CEO on multiple companies. I called SBA and asked about it, giving examples, never really got a straight answer other than thats how it works..??? Thing is, these companies were getting tons of work via govt contracts and being a small biz with any number of qualifiers (woman owned, vet owned, minority, etc) got to charge higher rates than your run of the mill, CSC, Lockheed, Boeing, etc.
