So this story is presented as just a little space filler right? There's a whole lot this article doesn't even get into. Starting with the fact that the driver of the scam car did not get out and act injured the driver, the scam car driver got out and immediately jumped into a following car that had pulled ahead of them to get him out of the way.
Also the police are only reporting because it got press. The driver's husband reported it to the police and they told him they would take no action unless his insurance company initiated a report even with his video showing obvious criminal activity.
But it gets even better within 2 days of that video being posted. The same exact crew using the exact same MO pulled the same exact stunt. Including the real driver being whisked away by a following vehicle.
And within a day citizens had found the Honda used in the second incident marked it as fraud, smashed the windows and flattened the tires.
It literally would take someone searching insurance scam crash to find all of these things less than 5 minutes.
