same reason I have to paint the walls in my house before my parents come to visit. Used to have 2500 s.f. Think it's down to 1800 what with the paint layers.

 Thanks, I forgot.
I used to pick up my clutter before my housekeeper came, but I no longer have one. I also have half the space I used to have.

We just decided it was easier to have the housekeepers come twice a month than to spend our weekends dealing with cleaning the house.

So far, it's worked out rather nicely, except for every other Thursday when I end up "pre-cleaning."

I go through this with DH every other week...
Because if you don't get everything off the floors and countertops before they come (1) they may not vaccuum/clean under it and (2) you're paying them to vaccum, wash the floors & kitchen & bathrooms, not to put your stuff away. It makes their job so much easier when the place is picked up and they really appreciate it.
