Why?

Why is it that when I go out of my way to help someone help an animal I am labeled the crazy cat lady?

There are plenty of people on this board that helps animals that have a zoo themselves that aren't labeled anything, but they are patted on the back and thanked from all who come to these forums.

I help many animals in need, not just cats, so lets just call me the crazy animal lady!

I commend you for taking Garfield. There are those of us ( me ) that would love to be able to do the same. When we first moved down here, there were always stray cats around our house. We took one in (she walked in our house one day when the door was open, plopped on the couch and made herself at home). Fed the rest. We were going to try to take in another one that sort of looked like Garfield but smaller/skinnier because he was getting the snot beat out of him daily by other cats but he wouldn't let us near him. Eventually, we stopped seeing him around.

You are a kind hearted person and there are alot more people on here who admire what you did for Garfield than those who criticized you. Wear the name with dignity. :huggy:

Well, YOU proved yourself many times and I'm not the only one who knows you are.

:flowers:I think it's great that you've openned your heart and home to those in need. Your husband should get some kudos too. Sounds like you're a great team.

I think one of the neighborhood cats in my area is dead. It's been sitting under the same tree for the last few days. Laying in the same spot... the fur just looks a little dirtier each day...

You won't even poke a kitty to see if it's alive!

Well, you guys can think what you want, I really don't care. I know all of my animals are well cared for and loved. I also know that everyone of them have a better chance at living a full healthy life now that they are with me then before I got them. I rescue many animals and I have found homes for a lot of them. It's the special ones that stay here and live with me. Like my Blue Tongued Skink that is extremely overweight and missing all of her toes due to someone putting a heat rock in her cage and not caring that it was burning her feet beyond repair.

I have 4 birds here that I only had 1 just a few months ago. But there were people who needed my help and asked me to take these birds in. They ask me because they know I will give them the best of care and all the love they can stand. I am not like one of those people that take in too many animals and then don't take care of them. Dr. Forrest at St. Mary's vet can attest to that.

So you all go ahead and point fingers and laugh and accuse. But you're doing it to the wrong person. I am no different than Krazd Kat or Cattitude when it comes to these animals. I help when I can ALWAYS!
