My husband & I will be relocating to Pax River, and we found some apts we really like: Apts of Wildewood. Anybody live here or heard good/bad things about them or the area? They are in California, MD. Thanks!

I've lived in Wildewood for almost a year. I work both on base and at the Wildewood shopping center and I think the area itself is great. I've never heard anything bad about the apartments. I know they're more expensive than most, but I guess location plays a huge part in it all.

Wildewood is a pretty popular area. Close to what shopping there is here and the neighborhood is very nice. Centrally located, too. The apts look really nice, in my opinion, but I have no personal experience with them. I'd say go for it! I don't know if you get the Wildewood neighborhood perks, but they have a great community pool and so on.

Thanks, yea they are super nice. But there were some we looked at that were only $100-$200 less, and they were in such bad shape, so I figure the couple hundred extra is worth it. & the security deposit is really affordable. We also looked at Abberly crest, and they wanted a months rent for their security deposit, plus $500 for a pet, and $200 to use the gym, clubhouse, and pool. I"m sorry, but that should be included, b/c the apts didn't have much space in my opinion.

I lived in those apartments for about a year and a half. I have no major complaints with them. The people are all very friendly and it is a quiet neighborhood. They are very nice apartments, especially the soaking tub. I had one of the ones with a garage and huge kitchen.

I lived at the Apts of Wildewood for 6 months prior to purchasing my first home. I had a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom w/den, fireplace, dining room, and balcony that I got in a deal for $1195/mo. I had two dogs with me, so it was $50 extra added on to the $1195. The area is gorgeous, the apartments are spacious, and very well designed. The only issue I had was that my electric bill and water bill were twice as high as what I currently pay for my home; and of course my home is four times the size of the apartment. My water bill averaged $80 at the apt., whereas my home's water bill averages $38. My electric bill at the apt. averaged $190, whereas my home's electric bill averages $160.

Yep....right about the electric bill..it has done nothing but skyrocket since we have been here. Lets see, apts. are nice. They are doing some more construction on a new set of apts....which has recently become nothing more than annoying! I hear the only thing that changes in the new ones is a cut-out for the tv..which is good! I love my soak tub, best thing about this joint! Can't say too much for the way they keep up the landscape. People are rude and don't pick up after their pets..absolutely disgusting! The ladies that work in the office are wonderful individuals though! :yay: Lets see, what else? Good amount of space, but not enough room for storage...oh yeah they are building storage units within the apt. complex...so you have all avenues covered!

I lived in the Apartments for a year...they are nice although mine was really small. I too LOVED the soaking garden tub. I did like the security of the buildings too. We did have a problem with some thugs stealing our motorcycle though...and I know a lot of cars were getting broken into throughout Wildewood...

I would recommend looking at the rentals in the somd.com classifieds section before you make any decision. I rented a 3 bedroom 2 and a half bath townhouse in Wildewood for $1200 (with finished basement)...so it is very possible to find much bigger for maybe $100 more a month.

Just my $.02.

Lived there for 6 months. No problems. Quiet, service calls responded to within 24 hours. Emergencies right away.

I moved from Apts at Wildwewood to Dahlia Park of Wildewood.

Its a nice area, plenty of places to walk, 2 community centers, Apt at WW have nice pool and gym, plus baggies for dog poop.

The entire Wildewood area is a gem.

The apartment costs are going up, so it might be cheaper really.
However they are brand new and nice. We thought about moving there if we sold our house. Expensive but very nice.
