So far I like it. There's a lot of stuff I won't use - OneNote, OneDrive, etc. I probably won't use Cortana, either, once the novelty wears off - we'll see how she actually handles reminders before I make a decision. But I do like the interface MUCH! better than Win8. That Start screen was AAF. Now it's a hybrid of 8 and previous versions, and makes more sense.

Seems stable, definitely faster.

Will her reminders sync with those on your phone?

You mention novelty, do you not use a voice-controlled assistant on your phone?

I guess I have to decide if I want to upgrade my Windows machine, Im still running 7.

I do not have an assistant on my phone - I use my phone to call people, text, and take pics. Check the weather and occasionally check my FB. I don't have a meaningful relationship with my phone.

It's amazing how quickly technology not only becomes a part of our lives, but gets to the point that it's taken for granted such that we don't readily imagine what it would be like to live without it.

I wouldn't say that I have a meaningful relationship with my phone, it's just a tool I use (albeit one that I use for a lot of things) to help me get more out of or do more with life and my actual relationships. But I have come to rely on voice-controlled functions and things like reminders on my phone, and more recently on my watch, such that I've sometimes told people (obviously hyperbolically) that I don't know how I'd get by without them. I can recall when cell phones first came into common use, they had those big bags. I functioned well enough before I had one of them or even a pager, so I'm sure I could do so again. But, man, I feel like I can do so much more - that I'm freed up so much - because of smartphones and tablets and smartwatches. To me they're liberating more so than anything. Maybe I'd feel something similar, just in a different way, if I threw them all away.

Anyway... I'm really just posting to call you a Luddite. That's okay, Ludditism has its charms.

Installed Win10 on my laptop and both of my sons' laptops. There's was in place upgrade. I did clean install on my laptop. Had to go after some drivers and get my Intel Rapid Storage Technology working again. Now it runs crazy fast. I went from Win7 so the new interface will take a little getting used to.
