Windows 10 boot disk

In Control Panels/Backup, there is an option to build a Win 10 boot/recovery disk.
No idea how to get there.

It's a 10 year old lenovo desk top, and it's not booting up after doing a bunch of updates.

Try booting in Safe Mode yet? During restart - when you see the Windows Logo first appear, hold down the F8 key until it displays the Safe Mode option.

I knew it was one of the function keys, but it's been so long that I couldn't remember which one.

Also: I got it to boot up in safe mode, so now to get my files backed up and/or stripped off before I use it for target practice.

Do you have a Recovery Partition on your HD? Most WIN10 systems are set up with one. If so you might be able to back out of the last WIN10 update.

You can also try the following in Safe Mode:

How to uninstall a Windows 10 update: Uninstall from update history
  1. Open 'Settings.
  2. Select 'Update & Security.
  3. Click 'View update history'.
  4. Click 'Uninstall updates'.
  5. Select the update you wish to uninstall.
  6. (Optional) Note down the updates KB number.
  7. Get the KB number for the update you wish to uninstall.
Since they are dated you can try to remove all of the updates from the last cycle.
