Windows 7 "Almost done"

I agree with what the guy said at the end of that. "It was very disappointing," said Ben Sillis, a reporter with ElectricPig, a British tech site. "CES is supposed to be about new products, new stuff. And this had all already been leaked. There was nothing new."

And unless there is a lot of changes between the last beta and this one, I don't see a reason to upgrade. Yes, they changed the layering of open tabs on your quick menu to group together the same exe. Which would have been awesome a few years ago when desktop space was at a premium. But now that we all have at least 17" monitors, a two tiered bar can easily hold 30 tabs. And I have yet to even get close to not being able to figure out which tab I want on my 24".

The only other thing they are advertising is different than the -current- Vista is the ease at which you can transfer files between computers at home. What? It's called a network. How much easier can it get?

Worst thing is, almost all the system specs match up to that of Vista, with 7 only needing a little less. It's sad really. They're doing so much to improve their GUI, yet the internal workings is what needs the overhaul.

I still don't understand why they don't release 7 as a patch to Vista.
