Anyone have it? Anyone know how to load simple pictures to disc? I tried to load some pictures last night to a disc and it told me I had something like 3 days time remaining...I am not too happy right now... :bigwhoop:

Is Vista registered? You can check this by looking at

Control Panel>System and Maintenance>System

At the bottom of the pane there is a section labeled Windows activation.

If it is, are there any more details from the message that would help to narrow down which program through the message box up?

Hope this helps...

Curious..

Have you just recently (within the past 90-180 days) purchased this computer with Windows Vista on it? Or did you purchase Vista seperately and upgraded to it? The only reason I'm asking is because it sounds like you may be using a different program (instead of the "Live File Format" burning that is built-in with all versions of Windows Vista).

Otherwise, you need go through a few sets of steps to get Windows to burn anything for you to a CD/DVD-ROM (depending on your drive, but I would expect you to have a DVD-RW built-in anyways if it's a recent purchase).

1.)Put a CD-RW/DVD-RW disc into your computer
1b.)If a window pops up, you'll want to select Burn Files to Data Disk.
1c.)If a window does not pop up, you will want to click on the Start Button and then Computer - right click on the DVD-RW drive and go to "explore".
2.)Simply drag and drop the images you want to the folder that pops up.

That's it. Vista is a little different than XP, as it automatically burns files you drag to the DVD/CD-RW's folder to the disk (as long as it's read-writable). If you're experiencing "this program will expire in x number of days", it sounds like you're not using Window's own disk burning software (which you don't see 'installed' as it's part of Vista automatically). Sounds more like a trial that came with a new computer.

Vista Premium is awesome so far! The Windows Aero interface is pretty. The User account control is annoying as hell but I guess it's good for people like me that surf porn sites constantly. Much easier to use than XP to me. The learning curve is shorter.

Frostwire (which is basically LimeWire) works with Vista (I know, I've seen me install and run it on Vista).

And iTunes 7.2 works with Vista.

So I have to use a RW disc? I put some pictures on a CD-R disc from Vista and they would not show up on the XP computer....I put the same pictures on the same kind of disc from the XP and they did just fine on both computers...Do I need a special disc to write to on the Vista? Do I need to format the discs on the Vista....It was just soooooo much easier on the old XP computer....

my iPod was fine from the start, but limewire jacked my registry, I had to go in a rearrange some things to get my CD/DVD burner-player to be recognized and work again.
